Acupuncture is the insertion of thin metal needles into specific points on the body that connect to meridians. These stimulation points are known as acupuncture points, or acupoints. Traditional Chinese Medicine recognizes 365 commonly used acupuncture points located along 20 meridians of the human body.
Typically, treatment involves 15 to 30 minutes of gentle needle manipulation at these acupuncture points, followed by 30 to 60 minutes of needle retention. This process is believed to regulate the flow of qi throughout the body, restore health to the mind and body, and help balance yin and yang.
The needles may be stimulated manually by hand or through electrical stimulation, known as electroacupuncture.

Is it safe? Does it hurt?
Yes, acupuncture is generally safe when performed by a qualified practitioner. Needles used during treatment are very thin and are typically inserted gently, causing minimal discomfort.
Each patient’s experience may vary. Some individuals may experience mild bruising, slight bleeding, temporary soreness at the needle site, or lightheadedness. Sensations such as tingling, heaviness, or tightness—commonly known as the “de qi” response—are normal and often considered part of the treatment process.
Patients should always inform the practitioner if they experience any discomfort during the session.
Our Acupuncture Techniques
Traditional Acupuncture
Utilizes fine needles to stimulate specific acupoints, restoring the body’s natural energy flow and promoting self-healing.
Tuina
Tuina is a traditional hands-on therapy that uses massage, pressure, and stretching techniques to help relieve pain, improve circulation, reduce muscle tension.
Cupping Therapy
Glass cups create suction on the skin to increase blood flow, reduce inflammation, and release muscle tension.
Electroacupuncture
A small electric current is passed between pairs of acupuncture needles to enhance stimulation for pain relief and muscle relaxation.
Gua Sha Treatment
A therapeutic treatment that uses gentle scraping techniques to help release muscle tension, improve circulation, and reduce pain.
Moxibustion Cupping Therapy
Moxibustion Cupping Therapy combines the suction effects of cupping with the warming benefits of moxibustion. Heat generated through the cup and burning moxa penetrates deeply into acupuncture points and meridians to help promote circulation, warm the channels, and support the body’s natural balance.
This traditional therapy may help dispel cold and dampness, improve digestion, strengthen the stomach and spleen, support low-energy or cold body conditions, regulate internal organ function, and assist with women’s concerns such as cold uterus discomfort.
