Project Description

Orthotics are customized, rigid or semi-rigid, insoles that are manufactured according to the specific anatomy of the patient’s feet. They function to correct different imbalances in a person’s foot mechanics, redistribute forces during gait, and reduce improper stress and strain on different regions of the body.

By analyzing a patient’s individualized physical demands and anatomical structure, as well as, through a few specialized tests, we are able to construct specific orthotics tailored towards the patient’s needs and comfort. We may look at a person’s gait, wear patterns on current shoes, physical demands of a person’s sports and/or occupation(s), anatomical adaptations, required footwear, and any underlying health concerns. All these factors will contribute to fabricating a good fitting and comfortable orthotic.

Some conditions that benefit from orthotics include (but are not limited to):

  • Bunions/Hallux Valgus
  • Dropped Arches
  • Metatarsalgia
  • Hammer toes
